Summary: The U.S government requested information on more than 20,000 users of Facebook in the half of 2013 according to the social network's transparency report. This is Facebook's second report and it includes more than the first time. Facebook shows the total number of requests by each country. The report shows how many accounts were involved, and the percentage of requests. The United States is the most interested in data of Facebook users. Facebook complied with 79% of U.S. requests. 71 countries submitted requests to Facebook of more than 26,000 total requests. India submitted the second largest amount of requests after the U.S. Google has not yet published its report for the first half of 2013. Transparency is the stated goal, so people can only view the report of they are logged on it. The report does not break out national security requests from the criminals, something that happened from Google in the past. Facebook said that they will publish updated information for the U.S. as soon as they obtain legal authorization to do so.
Opinion: Wow!! There are lots of requests to Facebook! I think they would be very busy. I don't understand why countries wants to know the transparency report of Facebook or Google. Is it important? 71 countries requested the report and I think I might quit that company because there are too many things to do. They will be stressed out.

But is it okay if the government is using private information from facebook? Well, if it is for government use, it might be okay...
답글삭제I am really sad because we need to be controlled in order to have freedom without danger like hacking. To be controlled makes us feel not good, but it is needed. However, the government should control the citizens in the only case for their safe, but not for using the power.
답글삭제I agree with ember's opinion, government requested information from facebook or google? It concern my information might share.
답글삭제is that ture? I cannot believe that. I do not think it is right. Is not it illegal? They have no right to use our information without our permission.
