U.S. can't force democracy on Egypt

Summary: U.S wants Egypt to be democracy. Now Egypt is a republic. Egypt knows that U.S needs them as well as Egypt needs U.S. They are trying to keep the key for their benefit. They need U.S as well as other countries such as Iran, Arab. The U.S cannot force instant democracy from the outside by diplomatic pressure. But there is a way such as helping them to change rather than forcing with power.

Opinion: We learned about democracy in US Government class. Democracy is a government by the people. If U.S really wants Egypt to be a democracy, they should wait for the citizens to choose in Egypt. They can try to help them to be democracy, but forcing them is a problem and should not happen. It would cause a negative consequence.

  1. Yes, I think the same as you; I think US shouldn't force Egypt to follow democratic ideas so suddenly by giving them pressure.

  2. I agree with you, Calvin. If U.S. really want to make Egypt to be democracy, they should wait and persuade them to democracy. No threatens...

  3. I agree with your opinion. Even if US has the biggest power in this world, it is unfair to force other country to do as US wants. If US force and make Egypt to have democracy, then it is not much different with Japan seized Korea and killed a lot of Koreans to take the control of Korean government.

  4. I agree with Calvin's opinion because the world guard is US and they self-claim as world best country. Few years ago, Russia and US had a deal to dominate Korea. They forced us and made movements to motivate youths. US doesn't have an opportunity or right to dominate or to force Egypt

U.S. Government should let Egypt how they want to rule their government. If U.S. is democracy and a free country, isn't it more right to give Egyptian government 'freedom' how it want to choose their governmental system?

  6. John's last statement really sums it up nicely. As a US citizen, I would prefer my country to stay out of it, and only participate if there is a cry for help by those who wish for democracy but are being oppressed. Even then, with utter caution. Tis best to stay out, unless the lives of innocents are on the line.
