Summary:
U.S. Navy arrived in the Philippines with food and water. Philippines is having a hard time with having food and water. Typhoon went over the Philippines and houses were destroyed and people does not know where to rebuild their home. Every one in Philippines need food and water. They need help.
My Opinion:
I have went to Philippines before and I thought this type of disaster would not happen in here. However, when I heard the news, I was really shocked. Maybe some of my friends there might have lost their homes. I am really sure that they need supplies from other countries. I saw the news and saw the video of Philippines right now. It is really terrible and it will take a lot of time to recover all the effect of the typhoon. I thank to U.S. and I  appreciate it.

Security officers later crashed with the attackers and at least three officers was wounded. Iraq has been harassed Sunni-Shiite frictions for several years. The apprehension began to intensify after an April event in Hawija.

Opinion: This is a sad event. I do not know why Iraq has been harassed Sunni-Shiite, but that caused the attackers to attack the City Council and kill 10 employees and wounded more than three police officers. It is too sad that many people are dying these days. I wish there is no more dying in the world.

9/11 observances: Moments of silence to start 12th anniversary of terror attacks

One World Trade Center rises above the lower Manhattan skyline in New York. Twelve years after terrorists destroyed the old World Trade Center, the new World Trade Center is becoming a reality in 2013, with a museum commemorating the attacks and two office towers where thousands of people will work set to open within the next year.
By David Simpson, CNN
September 11, 2013 -- Updated 0558 GMT (1358 HKT)
Summary: Many Americans will fall silently for the 12th consecutive September 11. 2,977 people was killed by the terrorists, beginning with the airplane crashing the north tower of the World Trade Center. It became a tradition that family's victims read the names of their loved ones at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza in New York. Political figures will not speak at the ceremony.

Opinion: It was a terrible disaster happened in U.S. I feel very sorry for the victim's families every time it becomes 9/11. I wish this kind of event never happens again in any world. So many people died. They have several different ceremonies and there is a time limit on it. I think this is thoughtful. I would never forget this horror time period.

Americans turn in passports as new tax law hits

Americans turn in passports as new tax law hits

  @sophia_yan September 4, 2013: 9:43 PM ET
Summary: The number of Americans are choosing to give up their citizenship has dramatically increased as the government made a new law to eliminate the stamping out tax evasion. Some might give up their citizenship to avoid this law, and some might give up their citizenship by becoming tired of overly complexed tax collection while they are in other countries. Unlike other country does, United States taxes citizens on all income.

Opinion: I think the government did well on making a new law. It is for the citizens who are not that worthy and rich. Like Warren Buffet said, "If anything, taxes for the lower and middle class and maybe even the upper middle class should even probably be cut further. But I think that people at the high end - people like myself - should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we've ever had it." we people should change their perspectives of the taxing problem.

Facebook reports 26,000 government requests for user data

Facebook reports 26,000 government requests for user data

By Heather Kelly, CNN
August 27, 2013 -- Updated 2035 GMT (0435 HKT)

Summary: The U.S government requested information on more than 20,000 users of Facebook in the half of 2013 according to the social network's transparency report. This is Facebook's second report and it includes more than the first time. Facebook shows the total number of requests by each country. The report shows how many accounts were involved, and the percentage of requests. The United States is the most interested in data of Facebook users. Facebook complied with 79% of U.S. requests. 71 countries submitted requests to Facebook of more than 26,000 total requests. India submitted the second largest amount of requests after the U.S. Google has not yet published its report for the first half of 2013. Transparency is the stated goal, so people can only view the report of they are logged on it. The report does not break out national security requests from the criminals, something that happened from Google in the past. Facebook said that they will publish updated information for the U.S. as soon as they obtain legal authorization to do so.

Opinion: Wow!! There are lots of requests to Facebook! I think they would be very busy. I don't understand why countries wants to know the transparency report of Facebook or Google. Is it important? 71 countries requested the report and I think I might quit that company because there are too many things to do. They will be stressed out.

U.S. can't force democracy on Egypt

U.S. can't force democracy on Egypt

By Anthony H. Cordesman, Special to CNN
August 20, 2013 -- Updated 1647 GMT (0047 HKT)

Summary: U.S wants Egypt to be democracy. Now Egypt is a republic. Egypt knows that U.S needs them as well as Egypt needs U.S. They are trying to keep the key for their benefit. They need U.S as well as other countries such as Iran, Arab. The U.S cannot force instant democracy from the outside by diplomatic pressure. But there is a way such as helping them to change rather than forcing with power.

Opinion: We learned about democracy in US Government class. Democracy is a government by the people. If U.S really wants Egypt to be a democracy, they should wait for the citizens to choose in Egypt. They can try to help them to be democracy, but forcing them is a problem and should not happen. It would cause a negative consequence.
